About Cedar Wood
Cedar wood is lightweight and resistant to both cracking and moisture rot. The oils of this resilient wood guard against insect attack and decay, and their distinctive aroma acts as a mild insect repellant. Cedar is a dependable choice for outdoor furniture, either as a finished or unfinished wood. Over time, unfinished cedar left outdoors will weather to a silvery gray patina. This natural process does not compromise the strength or integrity of the wood.

Another great aspect of cedar is its environmental effect - which is minimal. A renewable resource, cedar wood emits low greenhouse gases. So rest assured knowing that your beautiful cedar product is a green choice, too!

My husband and I purchased this bridge to traverse a small section of our backyard sidewalk that tends to flood during heavy rains. The flooding is about 2 inches in depth and covers about six feet of sidewalk, so this seemed like an inexpensive solution. The bridge seems solidly built: cedar wood and steel brackets. I coated all the wood pieces with deck and fence wood sealant before assembly. The assembly is quite involved: there are six arch pieces that need to be joined with metal braces to form three support arches, there are thirty-some platform boards that need to be mounted with 170-some wood screws (included), and there are six posts and eight cross pieces for the low rails. In other words, "some assembly required" is an understatement, but the price (under $250) couldn't be beat.[...]

Railings did not fit well at all.. one side was fine the other barely fit into place.. Wood is cheap and if it wasnt for predrilled holes wood would crack, some peices did crack.. some predrilled holes ended up not being flush with the frame. Overall.. you get what you pay for.. For [$] it was fine with me.. would of cost me that much in supplies to make myself and the reason for buying it was to replace the one I built myself. I wanted something a little nicer looking and professional looking.. Overall it served its purpose and I am fairly happy with it.. NOTE: I wouldnt jump up and down on it though.. the 500lbs limit is prolly a stretch.. more like 250.. Also the three board frame caused me some problems as it wasnt flush with the ground I put it on, so had to do the napkin thing you have to do with those cheap tables at a restaurant..

Comments about Harrison 8-ft. Cedar Garden Bridge:

Machine finishes and milling what you would expect for $200 (I suspect you'd get the same even if you paid $500...), With some power tools to "true-up" the finishes (bolt hole locations, etc.) where necessary, the bridge assembles well and looks good. Definitely a one person at a time structure, but plenty sturdy for all that. We will see how it holds up over time. So far, so good and you can't beat the price!

Comments about Harrison 8-ft. Cedar Garden Bridge:

The picture appears larger than actual. It is
8ft.long but sides are VERY short. Not designed for heavy traffic. Good for looks only which is okay for us. We purchased to cover the small pond area. Egrets were swooping in to eat fish and the leaves fell into pond. Hopefully this will help this situation.
We were missing one part in the pkg. Called and they sent new pkg. and we sent the old one back.

Comments about Harrison 8-ft. Cedar Garden Bridge:

First I should have taken measurements on my end so that I would not have been disapointed. 8' includes the arch. Attractive but photos and scale can be deceiving when considering online photos. Needs brace bar in the middle of arch which I will add myself. One person at a time on bridge. Easy assembly and next time I will opt for a larger sturdier bridge. This one is really for decoration rather than function.
